  1. Remove faceplate (two acorn nuts).
  2. Remove bull nose (three front screws + one rear screw).
  3. Place griddle plate flush with cabinet; align drain with grease chute.
  4. Reinstall bull nose over plate (tight by design); tighten 3 front + 1 rear screw.
  5. Reinstall faceplate (two acorn nuts). Ready to cook.

Transcript:

hello everyone, I'm Tony with Comstock-Castle Stove Company here to show you the proper way to install your griddle plate on your range.
Now we're going to show you how to remove the bull nose and the faceplate. The faceplate has two acorn nuts. The bull nose has one, two, three, and one more right there to remove.

Now that we've removed the bull nose, we'll make sure the griddle plate's installed properly. It's got to be flush with the cabinet and the drain hole has to line up with the grease chute.
Then we'll make sure that the bull nose is over the top of the griddle plate—this is a little tight by design—and then you're ready to screw it back on.

Now that we've tightened the three screws on the front and the one screw on the back of your bull nose, it's time to reinstall the faceplate.
Now you're ready to start cooking. Thanks for watching.

Hello everyone, I'm Tony with Comstock-Castle Stove Company here to show you the proper way to install an under shelf and legs on your funnel cake fryer.

These are all the tools required to install your shelf and legs on your fryer: a half inch nut driver, a 7/16 inch nut driver, a ruler, and a sharpie to make some marks. This is a corner bracket which attaches to your under shelf. This lower lip goes under, and then this goes in there. You want to finger tighten these and leave them a little loose because our next step is to put the legs through here and then our shelf on; when you tighten it, that's where your nut drivers come in.

This is where the ruler and the sharpie come in. The shelves work better about six inches up from where the adjustable foot attaches to the leg, so you just put a little mark—voilà—six inches. I've already marked the other four legs. Then I'm going to get our producer, director, cameraman Blake to help me do the next step. This final step you can do by yourself, but it's a lot easier with another person.

We're going to put the legs through the shelf into the body of the fryer. We're going to hand tighten them, then raise the shelf up to the six inch marks, then tighten the set screws so the shelf holds, and then tighten the bracket screws down as well.

After Blake and I tightened down the set screws and all the bolts on the shelf, we've turned the fryer over and put it on its feet. Now you're ready to start cooking. Thanks for watching.
Lighting your Shallow Fryer with Comstock-Castle

Fill the pot, open the cylinder valve, light and hold the pilot, then set thermostat and main valve to ON.

  2. Verify gas regulator is tight on the cylinder.
  3. Slowly open the gas tank valve to fully open.
  4. Open fryer door; locate pilot valve and pilot hole (on some larger fryers, hole is on the right side).
  5. Turn pilot valve toward you and press/hold for ~60–90 seconds.
  6. Apply flame to the pilot; release slightly, then press again to confirm it holds.
  7. Set thermostat to desired temp and turn the main valve to ON.
  8. Ready to cook.

Transcript:

Hey everyone, this is Tony with Comstock-Castle Stove Company here to show you how to light a funnel cake fryer.
First step is to make sure you have your oil—or in our case, water—in your pot before you start.
Step two is make sure your regulator's nice and tight, hooked up to your gas tank.
Then you need to slowly crack the tank open. Open up the valve slow and steady until you've reached a complete open.

Now the next step: we're going to show you how to hold your pilot light down. Now that you have your gas tank turned on, we're going to light the pilot. Open up the door. This is your pilot light valve; this is your pilot light hole. On some of our larger fryers the hole will be located on the right-hand side.
We need to turn the pilot light valve out towards you and hold this down for about a minute to a minute and a half.

Okay, we've waited about a minute and a half. I'm going to put the flame to it. Now let up, push back down. Okay, we have fire.
Turn your thermostat up and turn the valve to ON.
Now you're ready to start cooking. Thanks for watching.
